The governor  has issued an executive order related to procedure and the tax calendar. Please review the order with your town attorney before proceeding. 

On May 21, 2020, Gov. Cuomo issued Executive Order 202.32 related to Real Property Tax Law, which may affect your municipality.

Currently, there have been no official changes to the assessment calendar. Under the guidance of NYSAA President Scott Shedler, IAO, numerous discussions have taken place on the impact of COVID-19 on local government. We at NYSAA will continue to work with officials on how best we can proceed in the coming weeks and months. Check back frequently for updates.

The NYS Department of Tax and Finance has offered these Opinions of Counsel that may be of assistance to local governments.
