Thank you to the 200 attendees - both in person and online - at this year's Cornell Seminar on Professional Development, July 16-21, 2023 at the Hotel Ithaca, Ithaca, NY.
This year's Cornell Seminar on Professional Development offered basic certification classes to help assessors achieve the State Certified Assessor (SCA) designation, an International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) class for those working toward the State Certified Assessor, Advanced (SCAA) designation or an IAAO designation, and the IAO-1 class, known for guiding attendees to success on the Institute of Assessing Officers (IAO) exam. Thirteen assessors challenged the exam on Saturday, July 22! Congratulations to them for pursuing New York State's highest professional designation!
Those looking for continuing education credits had plenty of choices at the Cornell Seminar, from computer classes to valuation classes to the special seminars taught by Cornell professors. The Institute of Assessing Officers (IAO), the professional subsidiary of the NYS Assessors Association, this year picked up its historical tradition of partnering with Cornell University to offer two special two-day seminars taught by Cornell professors. This model was based on the very first Cornell Seminar held in 1958!
The Cornell Seminar on Professional Development is your go-to conference for the education you need to advance in your career! Watch for information about next year's seminar - always in July!
